Facebook pages are an excellent way to keep in touch with customers, even more so on a local level. With over than 350 million users, it&#8217;s guaranteed that many of your (or your clients&#8217;) customers are on Facebook. Facebook pages give you a great way to stay in touch with them, and help build brand awareness and loyalty.</p>
<p>Fan pages also provide a good source of incoming links to your website. Indexed by Google, fan pages often show up in the top ten results for brands.</p>
<p>Here are some of the ways you can make the most of your Facebook Page:</p>
<ul>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Offer an incentive to become a fan, such as a discount or coupon, or have a draw for a gift certificate. This is a terrific way to build your number of fans quickly.</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Communicate, don&#8217;t advertise. Ask for feedback and have a conversation. Avoid relaying a message that&#8217;s merely saying &#8220;buy my stuff.&#8221; No one wants to see that in their Facebook feed.</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Add local events and share them with fans; encourage them to share these with their friends.</li>

<p>Once you have your page set up, send a message to all your friends and let them know. When you&#8217;ve garnered 25 fans, you can <a href="http://www.facebook.com/username/" target="_blank">get your own username here</a>.</p>
<p>On a side note, you can also use <a href="http://www.facebook.com/advertising/" target="_blank">Facebook Advertising</a> to promote your fan page, focusing it specifically on your local area and target demographic.</p>
